Surf's Up Journals • Raising Funds for Maui
For my family, 2006 was an eventful year. It all began with a trip to Maui. My father's life-long dream was to be able to take his family to Hawaii. In fact, my parent's joked it was like Make-A-Wish for adults. Then in May, my Dad passed away from a cruel battle with colon cancer. Honestly, there's not much from that year my 11-year-old brain wanted to remember. As terrible as losing my father was, the memories we made in Lahaina, HI that January, will last the rest of my life.
Naturally, when I discovered Maui on fire, just a few miles from the very same place my family and I visited, I knew I had to do something. But, what exactly? After several long weeks of deliberating what I could do, I determined I would sell cute/affordable journals and raise money to donate back to Maui.
And with that, Surf's Up Journals was born.
After much research, testing, and editing (not my favorite part of the process), I am proud to say, three journals have graced my Amazon bookshelf and are available for purchase:
- Make Waves Journal - Ride the Tides of Inspiration
Dive into a world of creativity and empowerment with our "Make Waves" journal. Featuring a stunning plus-sized model fearlessly catching a vibrant, artistic wave, this journal is a celebration of strength, confidence, and making a statement. Inside, you'll find 100 blank pages ready to capture your thoughts, sketches, or anything your imagination conjures. - Eat. Surf. Sleep. Repeat. Journal - Ride the Sweet Swells of Life
Life is a wave, and this journal is your guide to riding its deliciously exhilarating swells. Featuring an intrepid surfer girl on a massive cotton candy wave, this 100 page, lined, journal embodies the joy of embracing life's adventures. Let your thoughts flow as you document experiences, ideas, and dreams. - Learn to Surf Journal - Catch the Wave of Knowledge
Embark on a journey of growth and discovery with our "Learn to Surf" journal. Featuring a rad broski catching a sick wave, this 100 page journal with dot grids, embodies the excitement of learning and mastering new skills.
How this works with Amazon KDP publishing, is as follows. Note: the estimated royalty is where the $10 donation comes from.
My goal is to raise $1,200, which equals out to exactly 120 journals (40 per design). |
